The Palouse Ice Rink has received two grants to invigorate the Moscow Polar Bears girls ice hockey program. The Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation Spots Matters Program awarded $13,820 to support the Polar Bears. The grant will fund ice time, equipment, travel, and coaching costs for local girls to play hockey at the Palouse Ice Rink. The Latah Community Foundation also awarded a $1,500 grant to the Polar Bears program. Latah Community Foundation funds will buy equipment for girls who are new to playing ice hockey and reside in Latah County.
The grant funds will greatly advance girls hockey on the Palouse. Moscow Polar Bear Hockey is open to middle school (ages 11-14) and high school aged girls (under age 19) regardless of past ice hockey experience and skating ability.
